Celestine Volunteer Fire Department.
The Celestine Volunteer Fire Department is located in Southern Indiana and serves approximately 45 square miles of eastern Dubois County. Included in this area are portions of Marion and Hall Townships, and also a small portion of the Patoka Lake State Recreation Area in Crawford and Orange Counties. CVFD is a full volunteer fire department and offers both fire suppression and first responder services to the areas stated above with about 50 alarms in an average year.

-Duracell "Power & Protect" program
We’ve joined more than 23,000 other volunteer fire departments across the country in the Power Those Who Protect Us battery donation program created by Duracell, in partnership with the National Volunteer Fire Council.
We’re joining forces to help build greater awareness around the challenges volunteer firefighters face on a daily basis and the need to help support them. You may not be aware of this, but 64 percent of volunteer firefighters surveyed report that their department is not sufficiently funded to sustain all areas of operations and 86 percent report that they or their families invest their own money in purchasing supplies or equipment for their department.
This donation program lets consumers give back to local volunteer departments, who devote countless hours of their free time to protecting our communities. When you purchase specially marked CopperTop battery packs, Duracell will make a battery donation to volunteer fire departments, like ours, to help power communication devices and life-saving equipment. By going to www.duracell.com/protect or facebook.com/duracell donations can also be directed to the department in your zip code. With the help of consumers, the program goal is to provide 10 million batteries to the 23,000 volunteer fire departments in the U.S. in order to help power devices and life-saving equipment used to keep volunteer firefighters and their communities safe.
We’d appreciate your support blogging and talking about our departments participation in the Power Those Who Protect Us donation program so your readers will help make a difference and purchase batteries to help power CVFD. I’m happy to provide more information on other fundraisers we’re hosting and images if you’re interested.
